Fatuma Mohamed has herded camels for thirty years near Jijiga. This is her first season with Mobile Vet — and the first dry season she has not lost an animal.
She walks us through what the SMS alerts actually look like on her Nokia, the questions she asked the field team before agreeing to tag her herd, and the cultural protocols she insisted on for the women in her community.
